Published on April 10, 2025 at 10:22 AM

Elon Musk, leader of the Department of Government Efficiency, DOGE, has reacted to the jaw-dropping number of fraudulent unemployment claims his agency found.

Musk branded it as crazy, claiming he had to read the documents several times before it “sank in.”

DOGE had earlier on Thursday morning from an initial survey of unemployment insurance claims since 2020 that shocked Musk.

The agency found about 24,500 people over 115 years old who claimed $59 million in benefits and 28,500 people between 1 and 5 years old who claimed $254 million in benefits.

DOGE also found someone with a birthday in 2154 who claimed $41,000 in benefits.

Reacting, Musk shared the findings on his X account, claiming he was so surprised by the numbers that it took him multiple times to understand the information.

“Your tax dollars were going to pay fraudulent unemployment claims for fake people born in the future,” the U.S. tech billionaire said.

“This is so crazy that I had to read it several times before it sank in.”
