US: Trump’s administration terrorizing legal migrants – Democrats Congress woman

Published on April 11, 2025 at 02:53 PM

The United States, US, House of Representative member, Jahana Hayes, has accused President Donald Trump's administration of terrorizing legal migrants.

Hayes expressed regret voting in favour of the Laken Riley Act earlier in 2025.

The congresswoman disclosed this during a CNN town hall meeting anchored by Kaitlan Collins.

Affirming that she once supported the bill, Hayes expressed regret after considering how Trump's administration is demonizing immigrants.

“As I've thought about it over the last couple of months, I probably would have voted differently. It's a vote that I regret,” Hayes said.

In January 2025, Trump had signed the Laken Riley Act into law.

However, Hayes faulted the law passed by Trump over its handling of immigrants.

She said: “I understand how immigrants across this country, who are here legally and have followed the law, are being terrorized right now because they are unsure of what happens next.”
