THIS is the horrifying moment a forklift operator falls to his death whilst working on a hanging platform outside a building project.
The tragedy unfolded in last month before the eyes of colleagues, who could do nothing to save the squashed worker.



A camera attached to the building equipment caught the moment the driver fell.
The can be seen behind the controls of a green forklift truck in a helmet and a hi-vis jacket.
The vehicle was on top of a small platform, suspended into the air and leading into an .
It was being held by the crane several metres above the ground.
The worker began into the building, but just as the front of the forklift reached the edge, the platform swung back from the edge of the block.
A gap opens up between the platform and the building through which the forklift plunges – along with the driver.
It topples backwards and flips upside down before crashing heavily onto the site below.
The driver's horrified colleagues can be seen peering over the edge of the building down at the mechanical wreckage, as the crane swings ominously.
The tragedy unfolded last month but only came to light on Thursday.
It is understood that the unnamed worker died instantly.
Hundreds of construction workers die in each year, with an estimated 650 killed in workplace accidents in 2024.
Another young construction worker was killed in last year in a freak accident.
The 20-year-old did after a rollercoaster at the famous hit him at full speed.
The Romanian was struck in the head during a test run for a ride, named Olympia Loop, before thebegan.


He was left lying seriously injured under the tracks of the ride, but tragically died later in hospital,Bild reported.
Police cordoned off the scene in Theresienwiese,, to investigate the death.
The victim, whose name was given as Sebastian J, was hit today at 10.53am local time.
The Olympia Looping is the largest mobile roller coaster in the world and was in the south German city for the world's largest folk festival.
