Upcoming film “Big Deal”; has unveiled its first trailer, offering a glimpse into its intriguing storyline!
“Big Deal”; follows the story of Pyo Jong Rok (Yoo Hae Jin), a chief financial officer who treats his soju company like family, and Choi In Bum (Lee Je Hoon), a profit-driven employee at a global investment firm. Set during the 1997 IMF financial crisis, the two clash over the future of Korea’s beloved national liquor.
The newly released trailer starts with the famous track “The Moon Is Waxing, Let’s Go”; by Kiha & The Faces. With its rhythmic melody playing, Pyo Jong Rok is seen drinking soju in various settings, highlighting his love for soju and his loyalty to the company.
But as the financial crisis hits, Jong Rok’s Gukbo Group is now on the brink of bankruptcy. That’s when Choi In Bum from the global investment firm SolQueen approaches Jong Rok, maintaining a friendly demeanor while claiming he can help prevent Gukbo Group’s collapse.
In a later scene, however, the two are seen facing off in court. In stark contrast to their earlier camaraderie, tension now runs high. To In Bum, who is no longer extending friendly gestures, Jong Rok pointedly asks, “Is using clients' information to screw them over is what they call advanced finance?”;
In the final scene, In Bum confronts Jong Rok again, with his voice-over asking, “Isn’t South Korea a country where people are free to make money?”; raising anticipation for how their relationship will unfold amid the story’s unexpected twists.
