Waterloo evacuated after emergency alert as passengers at Britain’s largest train station urged to ‘leave immediately’

WATERLOO Tube station has been evacuated after a fire alarm – causing travel chaos for commuters.

A photo shared on social media shows metal doors blocking off the entrance the central London Underground station this morning.

A sign says: “Emergency: Do not enter.”

One person described the situation as “fun and games”.

They added: “Due to the fire alarm being activated in Waterloo tube station, it’s closed and no Underground services from any lines are stopping there.

“As a result I’ve had to come to Charing Cross and get SouthEastern to Waterloo East.”
