JIgawa State Governor Malam Umar Namadi has warned health workers, including the clinical and non-clinical staff to take their work very serious.
Governo Namadi stated this while speaking at the occasion of foundation stone laying ceremony for the construction of Diagnostic & Cardiac Centers And Cryo-oxygen Plant at Fanisau, Dutse.
He said the State Government is committed to the revitalization and expansion of access to both primary and secondary healthcare services.
According to him, “we are steadily fulfilling our pledge to the people of Jigawa State.
“This is to ensure access to a more qualitative, effective, efficient, innovative, accessible and affordable healthcare system for our people.
“With these services (Diagnostic & Cardiac Centers And Cryo-oxygen Plant) in our doorstep, the era of going to other States for Mammography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Scan, and many other specialized diagnostic health services will be over.”
The explained that, the cryo-oxygen centre will not only provide 100% pure liquid medical oxygen for patients’ needs but is also designed to produce nitrogen at commercial quantity, thereby creating another value chain for fertilizer companies in Nigeria.
Governor Namadi noted that his administration is doing its best to ensure adequate remunerations for health staff and their welfare.
“I would take this opportunity to appeal to all categories of our health workers, including the clinical and non-clinical staff, whether permanent or ad-hoc, to take their work very serious, even as Government is doing its best to ensure adequate remunerations for health staff.
‘You all must be ready to reciprocate and take the extra mile to make sacrifices. Your work is service to humanity. I make this appeal knowing that we are still getting periodic reports of laxities in the management of some of our healthcare facilities.
“This we would not condone. Service delivery must be effective. The hospital environment must be neat and orderly. Relation with patients must be courteous. Personnel must report to work promptly and remain on duty as required,” he said.
