The mum-of-two explained that she never had an issue with her weight until falling pregnant in her 30s with her daughters, Luna, seven, and Flossie, five.

While working as a hairdresser, Kelly would nip out in-between clients and grab McDonald's for lunch before indulging on takeway kebabs or pizzas for dinner.

At her biggest, she tipped the scales at 19 stone nine pounds and was wearing a clothing size 22.

During lockdown in 2020, Kelly was determined to shift some weight and “love” herself when her relationship ended.

Every day “without fail”; she would complete 10,000 steps while pushing her kids in the pram.

When schools re-opened, she struck up a conversation with fellow school mum Lucy Artiss, 41, who invited her to train together at the gym.

The pair call themselves “muscle mummies”; and Kelly fell in love with working out – losing eight stone and dropping to 11 stone nine pounds.

Kelly, who now wears a size 12 to 14, from said: “I wanted to feel better and learn to love myself again.

“With Lucy's amazing support, she helped me shift even more weight.

Kelly, who hails from Rhydefelin, Wales, said she always had her weight under control, until falling pregnant with her first child aged 33 in 2017.

The weight continued to creep on when she welcomed her second child in 2019.

She recalled how she turned to takeaways for “convenience”, and “piled on” on the pounds quickly.

“I put on five stone in three years, I was terrible with food,” Kelly explained.

“My portions could probably feed two.

“If I had one bad day, it turned into a bad week and then a bad month.

Kelly recalled how her weight caused her lots of health issues, including “terrible knees” and constant back pain.

“I could barely walk let alone run around after the kids – I was really miserable.”

She explained how her breakup “really triggered” the change in her lifestyle.

“It opened my eyes to the way I was treating my body,” Kelly said.

“That’s when I really felt it – I looked and felt terrible, I was really was determined to love myself again.”

When the UK went into a national lockdown, Kelly completely overhauled her diet and started exercising.

She even started “meal prepping” batches of homecooked meals and counting calories.

In just under a year, Kelly lost a whopping five stone and was determined to keep going.

She now trains five days a week with Lucy – doing a mix of cardio and weight lifting.

“She saw me outside the school gate and told me I looked amazing,” Kelly recalled.

“I wanted to lose more weight but had plateaued a bit.

“She said, ‘why don't you come and train with me?'

“Lucy was an amazing help – it was like having a free PT!

“The more results I saw, the more addictive it became, she helped me lose another three stone.”

Kelly started documenting her journey on TikTok and has gathered 14,700 followers.

“I love helping people on their journey and motivating them,” she said.

“It took me a good year but I learnt to change my mindset, I don't stop myself having treats but do it in moderation.

“It is possible to do it without fat-loss injections and gastric surgery.

“Nothing against it but not everyone can afford it, and I feel like this has taught me the importance of exercise and a good diet.

“Now I can play with the kids and I got out with friends confidently, I'm stronger and happier in myself.”
