Ewan McGregor‘s career has been filled with diversity, allowing him to traverse the acting world without being pigeonholed into a specific type. The actor, whose most anticipated project is the Disney+ Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi, is as adept at wielding a lightsaber as he is at transforming into a fashion icon like the mononymous Halston.
The Netflix original series bearing the fashion designer’s name will hit the platform this May for a limited run.
Halston is executive produced by Ryan Murphy, a man who has become a staple of pop culture himself, with his work and contributions to media often the talk of the TV landscape, especially for his attention to LGBTQ+ characters, stories, and history.
This series will take a dramatized look at the acclaimed American designer’s life, from his rise in the fashion world to his fall after a bad business decision snowballed into the increasing loss of control over his name and brand.
Halston changed the face of American fashion, but his skyrocketing career came with its own pitfalls, as hubris often does. As glamorous as his life was between his work, his friendship with Liza Minnelli (played by Krysta Rodriguez), and his romance with Victor Hugo (Gianfranco Rodriguez), he always wanted more.
