Netflix has tons of cooking titles that make our mouths water. Joining the ranks is High on the Hog: How African American Cuisine Transformed America, a series that is sure to have us calling up our nearest soul food hotspot.
It joins various travel cuisine shows on the streaming platform such as Flavorful Origins, Street Food: Asia, Salt Food Acid Heat, and Restaurants on the Edge that all take a deep dive into various countries and cultures meals, which helps us to appreciate the scrumptious meals we eat.

What is High on the Hog about?
African-American culture is a major part of American food, and this series wants to bring light to the forgotten history of those before us. From cornbread to delicious baked macaroni, this docuseries takes us on the journey to distant lands as we uncover the origins of the food we all know and love. More from the official synopsis here:

The docuseries was inspired by the culinary history book High on the Hog: A Culinary Journey From Africa to America written by Jessica B. Harris, and Harris is also featured in the upcoming original series.
