Gerwyn Price says Luke Littler will break Phil Taylor’s world title record

LUKE LITTLER is ABSENT from European Darts Trophy action in Germany this weekend.

He has added the UK Open to his collection and retained the Belgian Open so far, as well as sitting top of the Premier League Darts table.

He hit an incredible NINE-DARTER as he beat Michael van Gerwen in the final in Cardiff for his third win.

The European Darts Trophy will take place between Friday, March 21 and Sunday, March 23.

Michael van Gerwen will look to defend his crown after beating James Wade 8-3 in the last iteration of the European Darts Trophy.

This is the first time the tournament has run since 2018.

SunSport can reveal why Luke Littler is not playing this tournament.

Why is Luke Littler not playing in the European Darts Trophy?

While Littler has not stated his exact reason for pulling out, it has been confirmed he will not appear at the European Darts Trophy 2025.

Action from Lokhalle, Gottingen in Germany is set to take place between Friday, March 21 and Sunday, March 23.

One potential reason for Littler pulling out could be his recent displays, going far in many competitions.

He won the UK Open and the Belgian Open, as well as making it to the final of Premier League Darts three weeks in a row, winning two of those.

The teenage sensation has had a hectic – and brilliant – start to 2025 and is probably taking a well-earned rest.

How can I watch the European Darts Trophy?

  • The tournament will not be televised in the UK
  • It will be live streamed on PDCTV – a subscription service.
  • Customers can purchase an annual PDCTV subscription for £49.99.
  • A three-day pass, which will cover the whole tournament, costs £4.99.
  • Alternatively, SunSport will live blog every match of the competition.
