Why has KSI vs Dillon Danis been postponed? Misfits Boxing 21 set to take place on a new date

KSI vs Dillon Danis CANCELLED just eight days before fight as brief statement is released

KSI will NOT be resolving his intense rivalry with former Bellator star Dillon Danis this weekend.

After an intense conflict that started a year earlier, the two were scheduled to fight in January 2023, but Danis withdrew a week prior to the match.

Yet now, KSI has cancelled the fight – and the whole show – scheduled for this Saturday night after withdrawing from the most recent date.

Wayne Bridge was initially scheduled to fight the YouTuber-turned-boxer, but the former Chelsea and England defender withdrew after ‘The Nightmare' made contentious remarks.

Danis was able to step in as a replacement, but the problems keep coming up with this bout after a further issue.

Why has KSI vs Dillon Danis been postponed?

The showdown was supposed to be held on Saturday, March 29, at Manchester's AO Arena, but KSI has withdrawn due to sickness.

Misfits Boxing, the event's organisers, sent a message on social media last Friday to announce the postponement.

It read: “Due to an illness to KSI, Misfits Boxing ‘Unfinished Business', scheduled for March 29th in Manchester, has been postponed. A further update will be issued next week, including a new date for the event.”

Other fights on the night, including those involving Darren Till and Roman Fury, have also been rescheduled.

After that, KSI made a video statement in which he described his predicament and the reasons he is unable to compete this weekend.

He said: “I've tried my hardest but my body has legit just given up.

“I'm currently in bed taking antibiotics trying to recover but I'm struggling. I'm coughing up greenish-yellow s*** all the time, my sinuses are hurting to the point where I need ibuprofen every day.

“The tension headaches that I'm getting are more painful than you can imagine. I'm using Sudafed daily.

“I've tried sparring and training but my body just feels weak. My stamina has just fallen off a cliff. I can't even taste right now or smell.

“Basically, I'm f***ed. I've been ill for almost three weeks and it's just not got better.

“I've had doctors come around to try and decipher what is going on. Honestly, I've never been this ill for this long in my life and I hate it.

“I feel useless and it's depressing. I feel like I've let so many people down.

“I haven't been able to post any YouTube videos to help promote the fight because I've just been feeling so s***. I'm just sick of being sick, man.

“I want to move the fight to another date because I still want to knock out Dillon Danis. I didn't train this hard for nothing.

“Either way, I want to say sorry to everyone at Misfits, everyone at DAZN, I want to say sorry to the Sidemen for not being in as many videos as I'd like to be. And most importantly, I want to say sorry to the fans.”

According to Misfits Boxing, a new date for the fight will be revealed in the coming weeks.
