Will Nikolai be in Shadow and Bone season 2?

Nikolai Lantsov was not supposed to be in Shadow and Bone season 1 if the series followed the book of the same name by Leigh Bardugo, which is also the first book of the Shadow and Bone trilogy.

Still, fans were hoping they might see the fan-favorite character, especially because Kaz, Inej, Jesper, Nina, and Matthias were also left out of the book.

We shared what fans need to know about Nikolia and his role in Shadow and Bone season 2. assuming Netflix renews the hit series for another season.

There are few spoilers for Siege and Storm below.

Is Nikolai in Shadow and Bone?

It doesn’t appear that Nikolai was in Shadow and Bone season 1. Although, wouldn’t it be phenomenal if he was in the season in disguise and we just didn’t know it was him at some point in season 1?

If Shadow and Bone is renewed for season 2, there’s absolutely no way that the series could proceed without Nikolai. He’s such an important part of the story. And, I think we all need another edge to the love triangle, don’t we?

If the series goes where I think that it will go, we’re going to meet Nikolai very early in season 2, possibly even in the first or second episode.

Those who have read the Shadow and Bone trilogy know that Nikolai is introduced very early in Siege and Storm, the second book of the trilogy. Spoiler alert! After Mal and Alina escape the Darkling, he catches up with them a bit later and plans to take them back to Ravka on the boat captained by Sturmhond, which is revealed later to be Nikolai Lantsov.

He, then, becomes a much larger part of the story and Alina’s life.

So, I don’t see how we wouldn’t meet Nikolai very, very earlier in season 2. It sounds like we’re also going to be meeting Wylan in Shadow and Bone season 2.

That’s my guess. We’ll just have to wait and find out more information about season 2, including the release date, cast, plot synopsis, and more at a later date.
