‘Every time I saw him, I loved him more’ – Potential Willie Mullins superstar set for debut in race of champions

WILLIE MULLINS' potential next superstar horse is poised to make his big debut on Sunday in some very famous silks.

Mullins' top bloodstock agent Harold Kirk couldn't speak highly enough of Boedic when he went through the sales ring last June.

Top dealer Tom Malone set the ball rolling with a six-figure bid but it was Kirk who struck with the winning £150,000 offer on behalf of Michael O'Leary's Gigginstown.

The son of No Risk At All – who counts Grade 1 superstars Allaho, Kopek Des Bordes and Epatante among his progeny – was whisked off to Closutton soon after.

And now – who could land the – thinks the time could be right for Boedic to make his debut at Fairyhouse on Sunday.

The four-year-old gelding is one of five Mullins – who looks set to – has entered in the valuable Tattersalls Ireland Sales Bumper.

The race has produced some top-class talent in recent years.

Awesome Supreme Novices' Hurdle winner Kopek Des Bordes took it by 13 lengths last year and is unbeaten ever since.

The year before Gordon Elliott's multiple Grade 1-winning mare Brighterdaysahead scooped the pot.

Kirk was desperate to land Boedic on the day and said: “This horse was my number one, he is by one of my favourite sires and the dam was a very good cross-country mare, which we love as we have had some very good horses out of cross-country mares.

“He is a stunning individual, has fantastic movement and he just ticked every box.

“Every time I saw him, I loved him more and he is for an owner in Willie’s yard.

“He is very athletic and he should not take a load of time – a lot of No Risk At All’s can come to hand quickly.”

Mullins is also set to run anoter Gigginstown horse in the shape of £100,000 purchase Eliodam.

While Early Dawning, Sunshineway and top owner Luke McMahon's four-year-old filly Luciole Des Bordes are set to make their debuts for Mullins.
