Wisconsin Election: Trump accuses Democrats after voter ID gets approved

Published on April 02, 2025 at 08:57 AM

United States President Donald Trump has accused Democrats after voter ID was approved in the Wisconsin election.

On Tuesday, Wisconsin voters decided to enshrine a voter ID law in the state constitution.

Reacting, Trump, in a post on his Truth Social media account on Tuesday night, said the Democrats fought hard against the voter ID, presumably so they can cheat.

According to him, the latest development is a big win for the Republicans.

“Voter I.D. just approved in Wisconsin Election,” Trump wrote.

“Democrats fought hard against this, presumably so they can cheat. This is a big win for Republicans, maybe the biggest win of the night.

“It should allow us to win Wisconsin, like I just did in the Presidential Election, for many years to come!”

Wisconsin's photo ID requirement for voting will now be elevated from state law to constitutional amendment under a proposal approved by voters.
