Woman who bought £1.5m Versace-designed London flat is battling to get cash back…as luxury bathroom has no BATH

A WOMAN who bought a £1.5million Versace-designed flat is trying to claw her money back as the lavish bathroom has no bath.

Mi Suk Park forked out £381,000 for a deposit on a two-bedroom apartment and parking space in the Aykon London One tower in Nine Elms, South London.

Ms Park also complained one bedroom was smaller than advertised

The 54-year-old claimed she was promised the “ultimate luxury” and viewed a brochure and floorplan before splashing out.

But when she viewed the luxury home in person, she claimed it was “materially and manifestly” different to the plans she viewed.

As a result, Ms Park refused to move into her new home and is now suing for more than £700,000.

The proposed cost includes the deposit money she paid and cash to cover five years' rent, alongside other losses she suffered.

Central London County Court heard one bedroom was smaller than she expected and one of the two bathrooms did not have a bathub.

Ms Park has also complained a utility cupboard “impinges” on what she expected to be an “open plan living space”.

She said there has also been a two-year delay in the development, which has been dubbed the “Versace Tower” due to a collaboration with the designer.

But developer Nine Elms Property Ltd is fighting the claim and counter suing Ms Park for not completing the purchase – insisting her deposit has been forfeited.

Lawyers for the company have also argued that the brochure Ms Park saw before handing over the cash for was illustrative purposes only.

They say the firm made clear that what was being shown was simply an example of a “typical layout”.

The court was told Ms Park had agreed the deal for the £1,524,400 property in November 2015.

She intended to use the pad as her and her husband's “main home” until they retired.

Nazar Mohammad, for Ms Park, claimed the home was “critically” supposed to have two bedrooms and two bathrooms with a tub in each.

The court heard the flat was due to be ready in 2020 and Ms Park sold her home in preparation.

But when it was finally ready in 2022 and she saw it, the accountant was deeply unhappy, it was said.

Ms Park then refused to complete the purchase and is now claiming her deposit money back.

She is also seeking £131,000 rent she has paid since 2020, £150,000 over the sale of her house plus around £45,000 of additional losses.

The case continues.
