I get stopped in the street and asked which fake tan I use - a Superdrug fave's my go-to & a £3 buy to apply it is key

HER fake tan is so stunning that she gets stopped in the street and asked which product she uses.

And Scarlett has finally revealed her Superdrug must-have, as well as her top tips to stop the tan from ending up patchy and streaky.

In a video on her TikTok page, Scarlett said she swears by the Effn Tanning Foam in Ultra Dark, which you can buy in the high-street store.

She began by using a Kabuki brush to apply the foam to her neck and chest, as she said: “Using a brush always makes it more even”.

Scarlett revealed she uses Aveeno's Daily Moisturising Yogurt Body Cream, which is available for just £3.38 online, an hour before applying her fake tan – to ensure the cream has “actually sunk into my skin properly”.

Alongside the Aveeno cream, which she uses on her body, she uses a CeraVe moisturiser on her face.

And for her face, she uses the same Effn foam, but in the medium shade – which she also uses on her hands to ensure they don't go “ridiculously orange”.

For her face, Scarlett applies the foam like a contour, and with a clean make-up brush.

“I actually put the ingredients of this tan into the acne safe checker, and it is actually safe for acne, which is why I love it so much – it doesn't break me out,” Scarlett added.

She also advised tanning in between the fingers, the armpits, the ears and behind the ears, as she admitted she's made the mistake of forgetting those areas in the past.

For her stomach and legs, Scarlett uses a fake tanning mitt to apply it.

And when she's done, she uses the Kabuki brush once more to add a final layer to her chest area, as she said: “My fake tan always comes off first on my chest and my neck”.

Once she's finished, she either leaves the tan on for eight hours, or sleeps in it.

“This is the best and darkest tan ever,” she concluded.

“How long does it last?” one person asked in the comments section, adding: “I am sick of my fake tan lasting 2 days!”

“It stays super dark for around 5 days but I usually scrub it off properly after a week and reapply!!” Scarlett replied.

“It’s soo good!”

“EFFN is THE best fake tan I’ve ever tried,” another gushed.

Fake Tan Lovers Guide to Applying it Streak-Free

I get stopped in the street and asked which fake tan I use – a Superdrug fave’s my go-to & a £3 buy to apply it is key 7

Here’s Fabulous ultimate guide to a flawless, streak-free fake tan that will leave you looking like you’ve just stepped off the beach...

Preparation is Key

A streak-free tan starts with proper skin prep. Exfoliate your skin thoroughly 24 hours before application. Focus on rough areas like elbows, knees and ankles to ensure an even canvas. Opt for an exfoliator with natural ingredients to avoid irritation.

Hydration Station

Moisturise your entire body right after exfoliating, but pay extra attention to dry patches. On the day of tanning, only apply a light, oil-free moisturiser to these areas a few hours before you plan to tan. This prevents the tan from clinging to dry spots and developing unevenly.

Formulate, Don't Hate

Selecting the right fake tan product can make all the difference. Mousse formulas are easiest to apply and blend. Tanning drops can be added to your regular face moisturiser to match your face with your body.

Application O'Clock

Using a tanning mitt is non-negotiable for an even application. Dispense a small amount of product onto the mitt and apply in long, sweeping motions. Start from your ankles and work your way up to avoid creases. Apply sparingly on joints and use a fluffy make-up brush for your hands and feet.

Post-Tan Care

Once you’ve applied your tan, allow it to dry completely before dressing. Loose, dark clothing is best to avoid transferring colour. Avoid water and sweat for at least six to eight hours while the tan develops. After your first rinse, pat your skin dry gently and moisturise daily to prolong your tan.

In her response to another comment, Scarlett also revealed that she uses “the Effn gradual tan every other day to keep it dark”.

“It is the BEST tan,” someone else agreed.

As another wrote: “Get this girl a sponsorship!! Consider me influenced!”
