However, things didn't quite go to plan when it came to removing the mask, as she showed in a video on her TikTok page.

In the clip, Charlotte was seen gently pulling off the mask – which began successfully at first.

But when she got to the mask on her lips, her eyes were seen widening as she realised she'd made an

She then had to pull the mask off a bit at a time because of the pain.

And she eventually decided she was going to “wash the rest off”, as there were only a few bits left that she couldn't pull off.

“Do not put charcoal face mask over lips – especially while they're chapped!” she wrote over the top.

Charlotte added in the caption: “My lips ripped and were bleeding don’t recommend guys.”

But there were lots of people in the comments section who insisted Charlotte was the one in the wrong, as she had put the mask on her lips in error.

“Well why would you put it on your lips? Seriously!” one wrote.

“Seriously I don’t know,” Charlotte sighed in response.

“You look in pain,” another said.

“Why put it on your lips?” a third said.

“That was just stupid!”

“Why would you do that? You're not supposed to put it on your lips,” someone else replied.

“I learnt that the hard way,” Charlotte added.

“Why would you put a peel off mask over your lips?” another questioned.

As someone else pointed out: “You shouldn’t anyway.

“Lips don’t need charcoal or any oil reducing products at all, it’s a different skin composition than our faces.”

While another person admitted: “I once ripped off the entire layer of my bottom lip.

“Never known pain like it!”

“Omggg just use a sugar scrub to get it off!” someone else suggested.

“I'm dying!”

“On the package it always says ‘do not put on mouth or near eyes' or something like that,” another pointed out.

“But either way THERE ARE WARNINGS! I hope you are alright though.”
