World Cup: England, France quarter-final clash confirmed

Published on December 05, 2022 at 03:13 AM

England will take on France in the quarter-final of the 2022 World Cup.

The Three Lions booked their spot in the next round thanks to a commanding 3-0 victory over Senegal on Sunday.

Jordan Henderson opened the scoring in the first half, finishing off Jude Bellingham’s cutback.

Gareth Southgate’s men doubled their lead before the interval, with Harry Kane rounding off a fine counter-attack move.

After the break, Bukayo Saka put the game beyond the reach of the African champions.

Earlier in the day, France beat Poland 3-1.

Kylian Mbappe scored twice, while Olivier Giroud also found the back of the net.

Robert Lewandowski’s goal was a mere consolation, as the defending champions made it into the last eight.
