World Cup: Okocha reacts to Casemiro’s goal for Brazil against Switzerland

Published on November 29, 2022 at 02:46 AM

Former Paris Saint-Germain and Bolton midfielder, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, has reacted to Brazil midfielder Casemiro’s match-winning goal against Switzerland on Monday evening.

Okocha said that every striker would be proud of Casemiro’s goal against Switzerland.

Recall that Casemiro scored the only goal of the match in the second half as Brazil defeated Switzerland 1-0 to book their place in the knockout stage.

The Manchester United star fired a delightful shot past the Switzerland goalkeeper after VAR denied Vinicius’ earlier goal for offside.

“Every striker will be proud of that goal. He has got it in his locker. There was a deflection, but he’ll take it any day,”; Okocha said on Supersport.

“I mean he was on target as well, but you can see from the keeper’s reaction that it was a deflection.”;

Okocha added, “There is [joy] playing for one’s fatherland. Switzerland have shown us today that if you find a way to play against Brazil, you might get something out of the game.

“When it gets to the knockout stage, all you need is to get it right on the day and you might cause an upset.”;
