World Cup: You’re looking for Suarez’s apology instead of thinking of how to win – Gyang slams Ghana

Ghana legend, Asamoah Gyang, has slammed Ghana players after they crashed out of the World Cup on Friday.

Ghana needed just one point to qualify for the knockout stage of the World Cup in Qatar.

So much was expected from the West African side following their display against Portugal in the first game and the victory over Korea Republic in their second game.

But the Black Stars were flat-footed on Friday, falling 2-0 to Uruguay who also crashed out after failing to score at least 3 goals against their African opponents.

In the build up to the match, Ghana demanded an apology from Uruguayan legend Luis Suarez for stopping a goal-bound Asamoah Gyang’s shot in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The former Bercelona star, however, rubbished the call for him to apologize, insisting he owes no one no apology and blamed Gyang for failing to score the resultant penalty.

“You can’t lose a game like that. When we lost against Portugal everyone was happy back home because of the way we played,”; Gyang said on SuperSport.

“You have your destiny in your hands to qualify, you needed a draw or something but there was no sense of urgency, nothing to show that we needed to win the game. Instead of us thinking of how to win the game we were busy thinking how a player will apologise to everybody. It irritates me. I’m a human. We’re all supportive but you can lose a game like that.”;
