WWE change number of old rules after Vince McMahon’s exit and Triple H’s takeover including mentioning rivals AEW

WWE have changed a host of rules since Triple H took over from Vince McMahon.

The 53-year-old assumed control of the company from his father-in-law earlier this year.

According to Wrestle Feed, that has coincided with a number of alterations to the way the company operates.

They include lifting bans on certain words and giving some wrestlers their first names back.

WWE superstars are now also allowed to mention rival company AEW on their social media platforms.

Another change is that Triple H is allowing the mention of referees by name.

McMahon banned naming a ref on TV unless they were a part of the storyline.

But that will no longer be the case under the new regime.

And the first instance of it being implemented occurred on Monday night’s edition of RAW.

Ahead of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, referee Shawn Bennett was mentioned by name.

Triple H is the husband of McMahon’s daughter Stephanie – who also works for the company and has wrestled in the past.

The Game retired from wrestling earlier this year after undergoing heart surgery and having a defibrillator fitted into his chest.

Announcing he was hanging up his boots, he said: “I will never wrestle again.

“I have a defibrillator in my chest. It’s not a good idea for me zapped on live TV.”;
