WWE legend Randy Orton has strongly been linked with a massive WrestleMania 41 match against a returning superstar.

Orton, 45, was initially scheduled to face Kevin Owens at this coming weekend at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

British star Nick Aldis has emerged as a potential replacement against Orton

However, announced his withdrawal from Mania two weeks ago due to a legitimate career-threatening neck injury that requires surgery.

That leaves the 14-time world champion without an opponent for the Shows of Shows.

However, it seems like WWE are rigorously searching for a last-minute replacement for KO – and some strong candidates have emerged.

Pro wrestling fans are very invested in this storyline and have taken to social media to share their predictions.

Solo Sikoa has risen as a prospect to fill in at the Showcase of the Immortals but the WWE Universe doesn't appear keen.

That is despite Orton having history with Sikoa, who cost him and former partner Matt Riddle the Undisputed WWE Tag Team titles in 2022 against The Usos when he was part of The Bloodline.

Plus, the leader of The New Bloodline was also behind The Apex Predator's severe back injury that led to him getting shelved for 18 months three years ago.

Plus, Sikoa and Orton have already faced off on SmackDown in January when they had a rather hapless match that ended in under six minutes with the latter emerging victorious.

Rumours are also circulating about Aleister Black and Rusev stepping in as surprise opponents at WrestleMania after reportedly re-signing with WWE following their departure from AEW.

However, the fans want to see another legendary wrestler stepping in for his WWE in-ring debut after a rich career with other promotions.

And that is none other than British superstar Nick Aldis.

Aldis, 38, hasn't competed in a WWE ring since his arrival in 2023 after some stunning stints at TNA and NWA.

Instead, the Norfolk bruiser has been placed in the non-wrestling role of SmackDown General Manager.

That led to some intense confrontations with Orton, who hit him with his famous RKO finisher last year and was handed a hefty fine.

Aldis beat WWE Champion

The former World Heavyweight Champion did it again two weeks ago after Owens announced his withdrawal.

And this time, WWE put together an actual storyline that saw Aldis demanding respect from the ex-WWE Champion.

Orton went on to make things very personal between him and the wrestler formerly known as Brutus Magnus as he namedropped the English star's wife and WWE legend Mickie James.

WWE fans are very keen for that match after following Aldis' 21-year career, which has seen him beating some of the all-time greats like Kurt Angle, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe and more.

In fact, the ex-TNA World Heavyweight Champion holds a pinfall victory over current Undisputed WWE Champion whom he beat in NWA.

That means Orton may have to face a man that holds a victory over the current world champion, who will headline WrestleMania with .
