Yobe North Ticket: Appeal Court determines Lawan, Machina’s fate today

Published on November 28, 2022 at 11:51 AM

The Court of Appeal in Abuja has fixed today, Monday, the 28th of November, 2022, for judgement in an appeal filed by the All Progressives Congress, APC, challenging the decision of the lower court which declared Bashir Machina as the rightful senatorial candidate of the party for Yobe North.

DAILY POST had reported that the appellate court reserved its judgment after counsels to the parties made their closing arguments on the 11th of November.

Recall that the APC had approached the court asking it to set aside the judgement of the Federal High Court, Damaturu, which declared Machina as the rightful senatorial candidate of the Party for Yobe North.

The ruling APC had changed its earlier position not to appeal the judgement of the Federal High Court, Damaturu, which declared Machina as the rightful senatorial candidate of the party in Yobe North.

The appellate court is expected to determine the authentic senatorial flagbearer of the party for Yobe North between Machina and the incumbent President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan.
