Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo has warned criminals that they will not succeed in destabilizing the state under his watch.

He made the vow at a security meeting held at Senator Adams Oshiomhole's country home.

The meeting, which was attended by political, religious and traditional leaders, as well as heads of security agencies, is aimed at addressing specific security challenges in Edo North.

Okpebholo emphasized that the state would maintain peace and security, particularly in Edo North.

“Under my watch, criminal elements will not succeed in destabilizing Edo State,” he asserted. “I will deal with them decisively and make the state uninhabitable for their activities.”

He also promised improved security, stating that the meeting's resolutions would be implemented.

“We came here for a peaceful discussion regarding security. We had a perfect discussion. Let us watch it from here. Things will be perfect in our land,” he added.

Oshiomhole commended the governor's approach to security, noting that the people have expressed confidence in Okpebholo's leadership and pledged to work together with security agencies to ensure safety in Edo North.

A traditional ruler, HRH Mallam Ali Suleiman, also spoke, saying the meeting had boosted stakeholders' confidence and that traditional rulers were committed to collaborating with security agencies to maintain peace in the state.
