Youths in Taraba State have hailed the Nigerian Army following the rescue of four kidnap victims and continued efforts to restore peace through Operation LAFIYAN JAMAA.

Troops of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke, OPS, rescued the kidnap victims during an operation on April 3, 2025, in Kallong village, Karim Lamido Local Government Area.

“The troops swiftly stormed the location of the incident, forcing the kidnappers to flee and abandon their captives.

“All four victims were rescued unharmed and have since been reunited with their families,” the statement signed by assistant acting spokesperson of the Brigade, Captain Oni Olubodunde, said.

In a show of appreciation, the youths of Andamin community in the same local government area, paid a solidarity visit to the troops’ camp, where they expressed gratitude for the Army’s role in enhancing security in the region.

Speaking on behalf of the youths, Alhaji Adamu Abubakar commended the troops’ dedication and professionalism, highlighting the marked improvement in security in the area.

As a gesture of support, the youths pledged to sink a borehole at the camp to support the welfare of the troops. The project expected to be completed within three days.

Elated by the development, the Commander of 6 Brigade/Sector 3 OPWS, Brigadier General Kingsley Uwa, praised the troops for their swift and effective response in the rescue operation.

He reaffirmed the Brigade's commitment to ensuring the safety of all communities under its jurisdiction and urged residents to continue providing timely and reliable information.
