The Zazzau Emirate has prohibited district heads from holding dual positions or receiving two salaries while serving as traditional rulers.

His Royal Highness, the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, announced this on Tuesday morning during a Sallah homage visit by the district heads.

The Emir stated that the Kaduna State Government has issued a directive requiring all district heads who also hold positions in government agencies to choose one – either resign from their government job or relinquish their traditional title.

He emphasized that non-compliance with this order would result in disciplinary action, including the return of any salaries previously received from the government.

Furthermore, the Emir of Zazzau urged district heads and village chiefs to remain vigilant on security issues. He noted that although there has been a decline in security challenges, particularly in local government areas like Igabi, due to the Kaduna State Government’s peace negotiations with bandits, continuous monitoring of community affairs remains essential.

In his address, Kaduna State Governor Malam Uba Sani, represented by the Jarman Zazzau, warned district heads against unauthorized allocation of government lands. He stressed that the government would no longer tolerate such practices.

The meeting was attended by approximately 80 district heads from the Zazzau Emirate, along with other prominent figures from the Emirate.
